Star Wars, Crash Test, Sex, Bond

Short, quick random thoughts and links:

Star Wars EP III plot is at least partially revealed through this list of trading cards, which chronologically follow the events of the film. It's weird that given the tight security during filming and the carefully guarded plots of these films, the merchandising for the Star Wars films is filled with spoilers. EPI's soundtrack revealed Qui Gon Jinn's death, and books for both EPI and EPII were on the shelves before the films had premiered.

Brad Roberts, lead singer from the Crash Test Dummies, made a concert cd a few years back called Crash Test Dude. The cd's available on iTunes, so look it up and sample Brad singing covers of Da Do Ron Ron, Unbreak My Heart, Bette Davis Eyes, and Baby One More Time. Surreal.

Now that it's dead and gone, we decided to check out the first season of Sex in the City on DVD. After a few episodes, I'd say it's definitely geared more towards women, it's certainly as racy as an R-rated film, and the writing and acting is actually quite strong. Oh, and the characters are morally bankrupt. Not particularly surprised about that. I don't think I'll be rushing out to rent the rest of the seasons.

Finally, disappointing news: Pierce Brosnan announced on his website that he's officially no longer Bond. There's been a lot of back-and-forth between him and the studio over the past year or two - he's out, he's back, he'll play the older Bond with a younger actor starting a young Bond series, etc. etc. But now it looks like he's officially done. James Bond movies have their flaws, but I always thought Brosnan was pitch-perfect in the role.
